Terms of service
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Overview
Welcome to FineWood.
The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to FineWood. FineWood operates this website and online store, including all related information, content, features, tools, products, and services provided to customers collectively as the “Services.”
Our store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
These Terms of Service, together with any policies referenced in them, describe your rights and responsibilities when accessing or using our Services.
Please read these Terms carefully. They contain important information about your legal rights, including warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.
By visiting, interacting with, or using our Services, including placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the Services.
Section 1 – Access and Accounts
By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your country, state, or province of residence. If you allow a minor dependent to use the Services through a device you own or manage, you accept responsibility for their use of the Services.
To access certain features or purchase products, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, billing details, payment information, and shipping address.
You represent that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete and that you have the right to provide it.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for all activity carried out through your account. You may not transfer, sell, assign, or license your account to another person.
Section 2 – Our Products
We make every reasonable effort to describe and display our products accurately. However, colors and appearance may vary depending on your screen, device, lighting conditions, and display settings.
FineWood products are handcrafted from real wood. Natural variations in grain, color, tone, knots, texture, mineral marks, and other characteristics are expected. These features make every piece unique and are not considered defects.
Some natural imperfections may be carefully filled with transparent epoxy resin to preserve the character and stability of the wood. Natural wood may also change slightly over time or in response to light, temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions.
Product photographs are provided as representative examples. The product you receive will not be visually identical to the product shown in every photograph because no two pieces of natural wood are exactly the same.
Product dimensions may be subject to small tolerances associated with natural materials and handcrafted production. These minor variations do not affect the intended function of the product and are not considered defects.
All product descriptions, specifications, prices, and availability may be changed without notice. We reserve the right to discontinue a product or limit the quantity available to any person, geographic region, or jurisdiction.
Section 3 – Custom Orders and Measurements
Certain FineWood products may be produced according to measurements, finishes, specifications, or other options selected by the customer.
You are responsible for checking that all measurements, quantities, finishes, colors, product configurations, and other order details are correct before submitting an order.
FineWood is not responsible for problems caused by incorrect measurements or specifications supplied or approved by the customer.
Products made according to custom measurements or personalized requirements cannot normally be returned or exchanged due to a change of mind. This does not affect your rights if a product arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from the specifications confirmed in your order.
Section 4 – Orders
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. An automated order confirmation does not necessarily mean that we have accepted the order.
An order is accepted after FineWood has reviewed it, received and processed the required payment, and confirmed that production can proceed.
We reserve the right to accept, decline, limit, or cancel an order. This may occur because of product or material availability, suspected fraud, pricing or listing errors, shipping restrictions, payment issues, or other reasonable circumstances.
If we decline, change, or cancel an order, we will attempt to notify you using the email address, telephone number, or billing information supplied with the order. If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the applicable amount.
Please review your order carefully before submitting it. Because our products are handcrafted and production may begin shortly after an order is accepted, we cannot guarantee that changes or cancellations will be possible after production has started.
Returns and exchanges are governed by our Return and Refund Policy.
Products purchased through our standard online checkout are intended for personal or household use and not for unauthorized commercial resale. Business and wholesale purchases may be subject to separate terms agreed with FineWood.
Section 5 – Prices and Billing
Prices, discounts, and promotions may change without notice.
The price charged will be the price displayed at the time the order is placed, subject to the correction of obvious pricing or listing errors.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, displayed product prices do not include shipping charges, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage charges, handling fees, or other destination-country charges.
Shipping charges and applicable taxes collected by us will be displayed during checkout before payment.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase, billing, payment, and account information. You also agree to update this information when necessary so that we can complete your transaction and contact you regarding your order.
By submitting payment information, you represent that:
-
The information is true, correct, and complete
-
You are authorized to use the selected payment method
-
The payment provider will honor the charges
-
You will pay all charges associated with your purchase, including applicable shipping costs and taxes
Section 6 – Shipping and Delivery
FineWood ships internationally. Orders are generally prepared and shipped within 5–7 business days after payment has been confirmed.
Processing time is separate from delivery time. All delivery dates and timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, severe weather, public holidays, transportation disruptions, incorrect delivery details, or other events outside our reasonable control.
Tracking information will be sent to the email address provided with the order after shipment.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, monitoring tracking information, accepting delivery, and paying any applicable customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or destination-country charges.
Risk of loss or damage passes in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory rights you may have concerning products lost or damaged before delivery.
Additional information is available in our Shipping Policy.
Section 7 – Installation and Product Use
Customers are responsible for ensuring that products are installed correctly and used only for their intended purpose.
Before installation, you should check:
-
The product and all supplied components
-
The condition and suitability of the wall or installation surface
-
The location of pipes, wiring, and other concealed structures
-
The suitability of the supplied or selected fixings
-
The product’s dimensions and intended position
-
Any applicable weight limitations and care instructions
Different wall materials may require different fixings. If you are unsure whether a wall, surface, fixing method, or installation location is suitable, you should consult a qualified professional before installation.
FineWood is not responsible for damage or injury caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable wall materials, improper tools or fixings, overloading, misuse, unauthorized modification, failure to follow instructions, or failure to obtain professional assistance where reasonably necessary.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Section 8 – Intellectual Property
The Services, including our brand, text, photographs, graphics, product designs, videos, audio, layout, and other content, are owned by or licensed to FineWood and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms allow you to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
Without our prior written permission, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, publicly display, download, store, transmit, sell, or commercially exploit any part of the Services except where permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms grants you a license or ownership right in any trademark, copyright, product design, photograph, content, or other intellectual property belonging to FineWood, Shopify, or another party.
The FineWood name, logo, product names, designs, and slogans are trademarks or protected brand assets of FineWood or its licensors. Shopify’s name, logo, product names, and designs are trademarks of Shopify. Other names and marks appearing through the Services belong to their respective owners.
Section 9 – Optional Tools
We may provide access to tools, services, or features supplied by third parties. We do not necessarily monitor or control these third-party tools.
Access to optional third-party tools is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties, representations, or endorsement from FineWood.
Your use of optional third-party tools is at your own discretion and risk. You should review and understand the terms and privacy policies of the relevant provider before using them.
New tools, features, and resources added to the Services in the future will also form part of the Services and will be subject to these Terms.
Section 10 – Third-Party Links
The Services may contain links, integrations, or content provided by third parties.
FineWood is not responsible for evaluating or guaranteeing the accuracy, security, availability, or content of third-party websites or services.
If you access a third-party website or service, you do so at your own discretion. FineWood is not responsible for loss or damage arising from third-party content, products, services, transactions, or practices.
Please review the applicable terms, privacy policies, and practices of third parties before entering into a transaction with them. Questions or complaints concerning third-party products or services should be directed to the relevant third party.
Section 11 – Relationship With Shopify
FineWood is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
However, all sales and purchases made through our store are made directly between you and FineWood.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of a sale between you and FineWood, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from products or services purchased from FineWood.
To the extent permitted by law, you release Shopify and its affiliates from claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or connected with purchases and transactions made with FineWood.
Section 12 – Privacy
Personal information collected through the Services is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Certain personal information may also be processed according to Shopify’s Privacy Policy.
Because the Services are hosted by Shopify, Shopify processes information about your access to and use of the Services to operate and improve the platform.
Information submitted through the Services may be transmitted to Shopify and other service providers, including providers located in countries other than your country of residence, where necessary to provide the Services.
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the applicable privacy policies.
Section 13 – Feedback, Reviews, and Submissions
If you submit, upload, publish, email, or otherwise provide ideas, suggestions, reviews, photographs, feedback, proposals, or other content collectively referred to as “Feedback,” you grant FineWood a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and display that Feedback for operating, evaluating, improving, and promoting the Services.
You represent that:
-
You own the Feedback or have all necessary rights to provide it
-
You have disclosed any compensation or incentive received in connection with it
-
The Feedback is truthful and does not violate these Terms
-
Its use will not infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
We are not required to keep Feedback confidential, pay compensation for it, or respond to it unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We may monitor, edit, or remove Feedback that we reasonably consider unlawful, misleading, offensive, abusive, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate.
You may not use a false identity, provide a false email address, impersonate another person, or misrepresent the source of Feedback.
You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of any Feedback you submit.
Section 14 – Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions
Occasionally, information on the Services may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions relating to product descriptions, dimensions, pricing, promotions, availability, shipping charges, or delivery estimates.
We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, or cancel an affected order at any time, including after an order has been submitted.
If an error materially affects an order you have already placed, we will attempt to contact you and provide an appropriate option, such as confirming the corrected information or cancelling the affected order for a refund.
Section 15 – Prohibited Uses
You may access and use the Services only for lawful purposes.
You may not use the Services:
-
For an unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose
-
To violate any applicable law or regulation
-
To infringe our intellectual property rights or the rights of another party
-
To harass, abuse, threaten, defame, intimidate, or harm another person
-
To transmit false, deceptive, or misleading information
-
To distribute spam, unsolicited advertising, chain letters, or similar material
-
To impersonate another person or organization
-
To upload or transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
-
To collect or track another person’s personal information without authorization
-
To interfere with the security, functionality, or operation of the Services
-
To bypass access restrictions or other protective measures
-
To copy, extract, sell, resell, or exploit any part of the Services without authorization
-
To use scraping, data-extraction, automated, robotic, or similar tools contrary to these Terms
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
Section 16 – Automated Agents
This section applies when you use or allow software that acts autonomously or semi-autonomously on behalf of a person or organization to access or interact with the Services. Such software is referred to as an “Agent.”
Agents must clearly identify themselves and must not conceal or misrepresent that an interaction is automated.
An Agent must not:
-
Mimic human behavior to conceal its automated nature
-
Complete or circumvent CAPTCHAs
-
Circumvent measures intended to block or limit automated access
-
Provide false information when asked whether an interaction is automated
-
Continue accessing the Services after being instructed to stop
We may use technical measures to limit or control whether and how Agents access or interact with the Services.
Section 17 – Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Services if you breach these Terms, misuse the Services, engage in fraudulent activity, or create a security, legal, or operational risk.
You remain responsible for all amounts due up to the effective date of termination.
Provisions concerning intellectual property, feedback, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, severability, governing law, and any other provisions that should reasonably survive termination will remain in effect.
Section 18 – Disclaimer of Warranties
Information presented through the Services is provided for general informational purposes. Although we make reasonable efforts to keep this information accurate and current, we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, accurate, or suitable for every individual situation.
Except for express commitments made by FineWood and rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee that access to the Services will always be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. Where that is the case, these exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer guarantees or other legal rights that cannot be waived.
Section 19 – Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FineWood and our affiliates, partners, employees, agents, contractors, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services or products purchased through them.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, business opportunity, or replacement costs.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability arising from fraud, deliberate misconduct, or other protected circumstances under applicable law.
Section 20 – Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless FineWood, Shopify, and our respective affiliates, partners, officers, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from:
-
Your material breach of these Terms
-
Your unlawful use of the Services
-
Your violation of another party’s rights
-
Content or Feedback submitted by you
We will provide reasonable notice of an indemnifiable claim where practicable. You agree to cooperate in its defense by providing relevant information and documents.
Section 21 – Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Section 22 – Waiver and Entire Agreement
Our failure to exercise or enforce a right under these Terms does not waive that right.
These Terms, together with the policies and operating rules published through the Services, constitute the entire agreement between you and FineWood concerning your use of the Services.
They replace any prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, or agreements concerning the same subject matter, except for separate written agreements expressly entered into with FineWood.
Section 23 – Assignment
You may not transfer, assign, or delegate your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
FineWood may transfer or assign its rights and obligations in connection with a sale, restructuring, transfer of the business, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
Section 24 – Governing Law
These Terms and any separate agreement through which we provide the Services will be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where FineWood is legally established, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections available in the customer’s country of residence.
Any dispute will be handled by the courts with jurisdiction under applicable law.
Section 25 – Changes to These Terms
You can review the current version of these Terms on this page at any time.
We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by publishing an updated version on our website.
Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes. Updated Terms will apply from the effective date stated in the notice or at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the Services after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
